This is my first super sized tree themed art piece. I am often asked to create commission pieces on 60-72″ (153-183cm) canvas, though rarely create in this large size at my own will. I decided it was time to see how one of my dreamlike tree artworks would feel and look as it came to life on 183x122cm canvas.

I started with a soft pencil line, making up twists and turns as I felt feminine and masculine shapes form. I then used charcoal to create a realistic looking tree with a hint of maple and oak structure in shadowing. I added highlights throughout for a spot of sun and a reflection of positive focus. 12 acrylic paints were splashed and splattered around this huge canvas as guided by music I listen to. There is great detail in the acrylic mixing up close as a fluid form infuses. This large artwork is on gallery style canvas, with soft edges and strong timber support. Ready to hang straight out of the box. 20kg rated wire is screwed into the back for hanging.

I created this unique style of photorealism/abstract expressionism art a few years ago. All my artworks have been safely shipped express with insurance worldwide. All my art is sealed with high quality charcoal and acrylic fixatives and includes a signed certificate of authenticity.
