I have been waiting a while to express this bird through art. I used to hear them calling in the night when I was young. A local sanctuary/tourist operator in North Queensland used to own them. The birds are in some of my earliest memories, hence the great desire to create this beautiful creature.

I spent a long time on the structural side of this art piece as I wanted to ensure the expressive splashes were equally met with balance and depth. I used 11 various acrylic colours for this vivid piece.
