This painting is inspired by the beauty and intrigue of the hummingbird. The contrasts of its beautiful form to the way in which they move in such determined and confident manner inspires an accurate depiction through charcoal and also a loose and free flow of paint splatter. First charcoal was softly applied to the canvas to create a hyperrealistic bird. Then the acrylics were splashed around in an effort to capture a sense of movement and emotion.

This artwork is ready to hang straight out of the box. The canvas has white sides and creates a strong shadow with the 4cm (1.5″) thick edging- making it suitable for dark and light wall shades. All artworks are sealed with high quality charcoal and acrylic fixatives and includes a signed certificate of authenticity.
