I created this charcoal drawing/painting as inspired by Star Wars and social perspectives on identity. I just watched a Star Wars film for the first time last week and found the costumes inspiring. I have been playing with the idea of people wearing masks whilst nude for a while as I feel we all wear masks in various aspects of our life to survive. I see the masks as compatible identities, and the nude form as our real exposed existence- who we really are beneath it all.

I use real life models for my art and create a photorealistic piece using my made-up charcoal brushing and painting technique.
