This painting is inspired by a love of butterflies and a favourite gemstone. First charcoal was painted to create a realistic looking Butterfly in flight. Acrylics were applied to express a vibrant mix of emerald green, garden green, teal, baby blue, indigo and extremely bright light green. Black was used to provide a sense of strength and to hint at the night. Finally some energetic splashes and splatters were added to provide a sense of life, movement and excitement in flight.

This artwork is ready to hang straight out of the box. The high quality canvas has white sides and creates a strong shadow with the 4cm (1.5″) thick edging- making it suitable for dark and light wall shades. All art is sealed with high quality charcoal and acrylic fixatives and includes a signed certificate of authenticity.
