My latest addition to my growing tree series of artworks is inspired by the beautiful jacaranda tree. This time of year, my area lights up in vibrant purples, yellows, pinks and reds as flowers splash the tops of the large deciduous trees. I find myself walking through the streets in the afternoon in a day dream as the flowers start to share their beauty. I decided to create a tree with a hint of the Moreton bay fig. I then selected 8 acrylic purple variations to mix and blend as I splashed about the room, aiming at the canvas in a windy dance motion. Music always guides my process.
